Visiting Cyclone MORA Affected People by START Fund Representatives to CB Working Area

Mr David Jones, MEAL Manager of START Fund, UK, Ms Frederieke van Merk, Senior Analyst of ACAPS, Ms Lamiya Mahapara Ahmed, Analyst and Mr Imtiaz Ahmad MEAL Coordinator of START FUND Bangladesh visited Cyclone MORA affected HH (Households) who received emergency support from Caritas Bangladesh funded by Start fund at Miah Para and Valuarpara villages in Ujantia union of Pekua sub-district under Cox’s Bazar district. They were accompanied by Caritas staff members namely Mr A.J.M. Mazharul Islam, Mr Chayon Hubert Rebeiro and Ms. Shiba Mary D’ Rozario. The aim of the visit was to know the procedures of distribution and how the affected people were benefited through this intervention and observe the current situation of the affected people. After the visit, the team had a short debriefing session at the Pekua Office of Caritas. Major points of discussion included the following:

Feedback

  • Distribution was great as all the processes were maintained properly;
  • Community people were very much engaged;
  • Caritas arranged disaster resilience training which made Caritas exceptional as no other NGOs have arranged such kind of training yet.

Point for further improvement
