Thanksgiving and Handing Over Ceremony Held at Caritas Bangladesh

On 30 June 2025, the Central Office of Caritas Bangladesh hosted a heartfelt Thanksgiving and Handing Over Ceremony, bidding farewell to the outgoing Executive Director (ED), Mr. Sebastian Rozario, and extending a warm welcome to his successor, Mr. Daud Jibon Das. Additionally, Mr. Apurbo Mrong, former Regional Director of Caritas Mymensingh, has assumed the role of Director of Programs (DP), succeeding Mr. Jibon Daud Das.

The event was graced by Most Rev. Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI, Archbishop of Dhaka Archdiocese and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished attendees included Most Rev. James Romen Boiragi, President of CB and Bishop of Khulna as chaired; Most Rev. Subroto B. Gomes, Auxiliary Bishop of Dhaka; Rev. Fr. Gabriel Corraya, Vice-President of CB; Rev. Fr. Leonard C. Rebeiro, Secretary of CB; and Dr. Benedict Alo D’Rozario, President of Caritas Asia. Mr. Remi Subash Das, Director (Finance & Administration), along with all Regional Directors, Trust Directors, family members of Mr. Sebastian Rozario and Mr. Daud Jibon Das, and staff members from the Central Office, CDI and CH-NFP.

During the ceremony, speakers warmly welcomed the new ED and DP, while expressing deep gratitude to Mr. Sebastian Rozario for his 33 years of dedicated service, including four years as the Executive Director.

Most Rev. Bejoy N. D’Cruze, OMI, remarked: “From my observations, Mr. Sebastian Rozario was a man of honesty, humility, and great skill, deeply committed to Caritas Bangladesh. We are profoundly grateful for his long and impactful service.”

He also extended his best wishes to the newly appointed ED and DP, encouraging them in their new leadership roles.
