Celebration of International Volunteers day at Caritas Chattogram Regional Office
Caritas Chattogram Region celebrated the International Volunteers day – 2019 on 5 December. It was a unique chance for Caritas to celebrate its efforts, to share its values, and to promote its work among its communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), International agencies, government authorities, and the related stakeholders. A total of 80 young people of Chattogram division attended the day-long celebration.
The Archbishop of the Chittagong Metropolitan Archdiocese His Grace Moses M Costa, CSC was the chief guest at the inauguration of the International Volunteer Day celebration while the Deputy Director of Chattogram Cyclone Preparedness Program Mr. Ruhul Amin and the Project Implementation Officer of Panchlish, Chattogram Mrs. Uma Khan Kafi were the special guests. Team Leaders of the Cyclone Preparation Program, representatives of the Red Crescent Society of Bangladesh and Diocesan representatives also attended the program.
The diverse and dynamic role of volunteerism in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals merits strong support from Governments and other stakeholders.
