FSP displayed innovative ideas in Boishakhi Agriculture Fair 2017
Caritas Food Security Project (FSP) participated in the Boishakhi Agriculture Fair organized by Bandarban Hill District Council from 14 to 16 April 2017 at Bandarban King’s Field. Department of Agriculture Extension of Bangladesh Government was the co-organizer of the special event. Md. Mashiur Rahman Ranga, honorable State Minister of LGED inaugurated the fair and Mr. Bir Bahadur Uwsesing, honorable State Minister of CHTs was present as Special Guest. About 12 GOB sector and 8 private sector organizations participated in the fair. The FSP introduced some different ideas on good marketing of agriculture products to ensure better price and how to reduce post harvest loss of agriculture high value crops such as bagging of Banana and Mango, showed some ITKs (Indigenous technologies) such as seed preservation technology in the indigenous ways. Vermi compost and organic solution were also demonstrated in the fair. FSP achieved 2nd price in the fair by competing 22 stall. Mr. Sahidul Alam, Chief Executive Officer of BHDC distributed prizes and Certificates among the winners.[Read more]
